Philadelphia Business Journal: Brown’s Super Store CEO guest of first lady tonight at State of the Union speech

Philadelphia grocery store owner Jeffrey Brown will be among the invited guests in first lady Michelle Obama's box seats at the State of the Union address Wednesday night, the White House said.

Jeffrey Brown, who has 10 stores trading under the ShopRite banner, will be among 26 invited guests of Michelle Obama. President Obama delivers his first State of the Union address Wednesday night at 9 p.m. EST and will air on major television networks. Brown is founder, president and CEO of Brown's Super Stores Inc., which has 2,300 employees. Based in Bellmawr, N.J., the company won first place for an extra large company in the Philadelphia Business Journal's Best Places to Work contest in 2008. Brown has a degree in entrepreneurial studies from Babson College in Massachusetts and lives in South Jersey with his wife and four sons.
