Brown's Super Stores is a family owned and operated supermarket chain of 10 stores trading as ShopRite Supermarkets. Jeffrey Brown, who is President and CEO, started the company in 1988 with the purchase of a store in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. Over the last 20 years, Mr. Brown has focused his business growth in the Philadelphia area, with five of the stores being located within the city limits.

Brown's ShopRites offer state-of-the-art supermarkets with low prices, wide variety and friendly customer service. They have partnered with lower-income communities and worked closely with community leaders in each neighborhood to address some of the many social challenges prevalent in urban areas. Brown's strives to gain insight as to how to best meet the needs of each individual community and carries products specific to the heritage of those consumers.

In May of 2008, Brown's opened the ShopRite of Parkside, a state-of-the art facility located in West Philadelphia. This was an area that had limited access to fresh food and was lacking the vitality of a community with thriving businesses. The ShopRite has brought over 250 jobs to the community, including the hiring of those struggling with re-entry after incarceration. The ShopRite of Parkside is proud to be part of the state of Pennsylvania's Fresh Food Financing Initiative, which is crucial to the well being of the people and businesses in our communities.

Brown's Super Stores, Inc. is a member of the Wakefern Food Corporation which has grown into the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the United States and one of the largest employers in New Jersey. The cooperative is comprised of 45 members who individually own and operate supermarkets under the ShopRite banner.
